Safety and Fit
A unique leather strap runs across the wither area, connecting to D-rings on each side. This feature not only helps keep the pad securely in place but also stabilizes it over the lower withers when cinched.

For even greater security, I recommend using a leather cinch rather than nylon — leather is more flexible, conforms better, and adheres naturally to the horse’s shape.
 
Designed for Freedom of Movement
The MacPherson Bareback Pad is made to sit high over the withers — unlike a saddle — allowing full freedom through the shoulders. Positioning the pad so that the leather strap rests at the bottom of the wither keeps your horse comfortable while helping you find your natural balance point by gently tilting your pelvis back.
