Heart Intelligence
The Deepest Connection
Horses are masters at living authentically, intuitively and through heart intelligence. We can learn so much from them when we engage with them and in a way that allows their natural wisdom to guide us and show us our way.
The meaningful bonds that exist between people and horses have been shared widely across time and culture.
Many who have worked closely with horses have attested to the mutual benefits that they have felt especially when the person involved is in a positive emotional state.
Research has identified a “coherent” heart rhythm (heart rate pattern) in horses which explains why we may “feel better” when we are around them.
The following video, Understanding the Research of the Symbiotic Relationship Between Horses and Humans,
shares just a few key research findings on the heart connections between people and horses.

HeartMath Institute provides research that explains the symbiotic relationship between horses and people. It also explains the bidirectional “healing” that happens when we are near horses.
Bidirectional means travel or movement in two different directions. Most roads are bidirectional and allow traffic to travel in two different directions. Likewise, both the human and equine nervous systems are bidirectional and capable of carrying information both to and from the brain and body.
According to researchers, the heart has a larger electromagnetic field and higher level of intelligence than the brain.
While this is certainly significant it is perhaps more impressive that the electromagnetic field projected by the horse’s heart is five times larger than the human one (imagine a sphere-shaped field that surrounds you).
The horse’s electromagnetic field is also stronger than ours and can directly influence our heart rhythm. A magnetometer measures the heart’s energy field which radiates up to 8 to10 feet around the human body.
Horses are also likely to have what science has identified as a “coherent” heart rhythm (heart rate pattern) which explains why we may “feel better” when we are around them. A coherent heart pattern is indicative of a system that can recover and adjust to stressful situations very efficiently.
Studies have found that a coherent heart pattern or HRV (heart rate variability) is a robust measure of wellbeing and consistent with emotional states of calm and joy–that is, we exhibit such patterns when we feel positive emotions.
Often, we only need to be in a horse’s presence to feel a sense of wellness and peace. In fact, research shows that people experience many physiological benefits while interacting with horses, including lowered blood pressure and heart rate, increased levels of beta-endorphins (neurotransmitters that serve as pain suppressors), decreased stress levels, reduced feelings of anger, hostility, tension, and anxiety, improved social functioning, and increased feelings of empowerment, trust, patience, and self-efficacy.
In addition to the science, I have evidence-based research, time-tested traditions and proven techniques that teach you how to connect, align and synchronize with your horse’s vital life force energy – their heart intelligence.
