Art of Lunging Clinic

Art of Lunging Clinic

2.5 Day Clinic - Level I

Develop your horse’s mind, movement, and nervous system through meditation, energy alignment, and healthy biomechanics.

Event Summary:

Are you struggling to keep your horse calm while lunging? Would you like to learn a more natural and freeing approach that allows your horse total freedom to develop self-carriage without the use of aids and tie-downs? Are you interested in improving your horse's straightness, balance, true self-carriage, and collection naturally? Would you like to learn about biomechanics and enhance your horse's topline, ensuring smooth, balanced, and collected gaits? Additionally, would you like to build a deep and joyful connection with your horse throughout this process?

Caroline's Art of Lunging Method offers a clear and practical roadmap to developing a deep and meaningful connection, self-regulation, and healthy biomechanics. This process is organic and not forced, allowing you and your horse to learn naturally and without stress so you create authentic flow and true harmony.

Many things are designed to happen simultaneously during this process. While you develop your horse’s movement, you will learn to embody energy and rhythm to train your body to ride the movement.

In addition, you are developing a deeper feel and timing of your aids, synchronized rhythm, a strong connection with your horse, nervous system regulation, and a happy and sound partner and athlete.

Caroline's lunging method has many benefits, including its ability to create a solid and safe ground and riding foundation. In my professional experience, my method has fixed at least 95% of all behavioral issues and riding challenges, even the most extreme.

A solid foundation lasts forever, too. Once established, your horse will maintain healthy and correct biomechanics without daily or weekly maintenance. This is because once the body creates new neural pathways and muscle memory, repeated practice strengthens these connections in the brain, allowing for smoother and more efficient execution of skill with less conscious effort needed, essentially "remembering" how to perform the movement, making it easier to perform the same action again in the future, even after a period of inactivity.

Another great benefit of a foundation is that once your horse’s lunging foundation is established, progress will be easy as long as you keep expanding on the building blocks taught in the program. These building blocks are also designed to develop advanced movements, such as simple to flying lead changes and collected movements.

You will be learning the following in the clinic:
• The fundamentals of lunging
• The lunging pyramid – beginner to advanced stages
• Correct biomechanics - asymmetrical and symmetrical movement
• Straightness training
• How to work the mind, emotions, and movement together
• How to balance/regulate your horse’s nervous system
• How to align you and your horse’s energy
• How to embody rhythm so you synchronize with your horse’s movement
• How to learn how to ride from the ground first
• How to become a better rider
• How to lunge freely and online
• How to lunge naturally and use minimal aids to achieve advanced movements
• How to use your aids to guide, not control movement
• True self-carriage and hind-end collection (natural frame)
• Trouble-shooting and problem-solving strategies
• How to develop your horse into a happy, and sound athlete
• How to develop a better riding horse

Student Quote:

"I was always taught that “a tired horse is a safe horse”. I was taught to lunge prior to riding to get the kinks out. Nothing else. It was a chore. A task. My horse didn’t enjoy it (and neither did I!)
I can’t believe what a difference it has made to learn now only HOW to lunge my horse properly, but WHY to luge my horse! Once I understood from your program the reasons to actually lunge, (the benefits to my myself and my horse both mentally and biomechanically) everything changed! My horse has learned to self-regulate because of your lunging program, and now we can train TOGETHER! He is so interested to learn and work with me, and I am enjoying lunging him and watching him grow and learn every day! He has become a safe and curious horse instead of triggered and on auto-pilot. Thank you for changing our life!"
